CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS
- Several new endowed chairs and professorships were created to enhance the teaching mission of the university
- A transformational naming gift from the Oscar Boonshoft family positions the medical school as a national leader in medical education
- A gift from Krishan and Vicky Joshi created the Joshi Research Center, a focal point for statewide leadership in information technology research
- The state-of-the-art Appenzeller Visualization Laboratory was developed in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, through a gift from Robert and Joan Appenzeller
- A multi-million dollar leadership gift was received from the James F. Dicke family to support the first Lake Campus capital campaign for building renovation and expansion
- The university’s endowment surged to an all-time high of $74.6 million. Total assets of the WSU Foundation reached and exceeded $100 million
- The MTC Technologies Trading Center opened to bring Wall Street to the Raj Soin College of Business
- NCR Corporation provided $3.5 million in data management equipment that benefits the College of Engineering and Computer Science
- The Raj Soin College of Business received $3.2 million in computer software from EDAptive Technologies
- The Kettering Family Fund helped cutting-edge research in four Centers of Excellence: brain research, genomics, addiction, and Lifespan Health
- Premier Health Partners helped establish a Department of Geriatrics, one of only fine in the country
- The LexisNexis Eminent Scholar position was established to provide world-class research leadership in data management and analysis
- A generous gift from Matthew and Nancy Diggs supports the new Matthew O. Diggs III Laboratory for Life Science Research now under construction, named in honor of their son
- A naming gift was received from Robert and Elaine Stein to refurbish the Festival Playhouse Auditorium
- The Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center was built as an athletics training center
- Retired nurse Lovetta Blanke established the Lovetta and Bertram Blanke Endowed Professorship in Nursing Research as the largest single gift ever to the College of Nursing and Health
- Premier Health Partners, in partnership with the Boonshoft School of Medicine and the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will establish a new Department of Geriatric Medicine at the medical school
Wright State’s “Tomorrow Takes Flight” campaign funds will provide benefits throughout the university to increase support for student scholarships, new academic programs, faculty development, the university endowment, major facility renovations, community partnerships and new buildings. Students will also benefit from an increase of endowed scholarships. Every school and college at Wright State received campaign support.
College of Engineering and Computer Science:

Raj Soin College of Business:
- Development of the MTC Technologies Trading Center to bring Wall Street to the Raj Soin College of Business
College of Science and Mathematics:
- A gift from Matthew and Nancy Diggs supports the new Matthew O. Diggs III Laboratory for Life Science Research, named in honor of their son
College of Education and Human Services:
- A gift from Renate Frydman that will create the Charles and Renate Frydman Educational Resource Center supports the college in its commitment to diversity in the curriculum and the role of education as an enabler of human justice
College of Liberal Arts:
- Generous naming gift from Robert and Elaine Stein to refurbish the Festival Playhouse Auditorium, which offers the region’s most comfortable theater seating
College of Nursing and Health:
- Retired nurse Lovetta Blanke established the Lovetta and Bertram Blanke Endowed Professorship in Nursing Research as the largest single gift ever to the College of Nursing and Health
University College:
- The University Honors Institute presents an endowed lecture that features renowned, internationally known speakers, and integrates classroom learning, service learning and a scholarly conference
Boonshoft School of Medicine:
- A transformational naming gift from the Oscar Boonshoft family to position the medical school as a national leader in medical education
- A multi-million dollar gift from Premier Health Partners to establish a new Department of Geriatric Medicine
School of Professional Psychology:
- New scholarships will support the service mission of students both locally and nationally
School of Graduate Studies:
- Creation of several new endowed chairs and professorships, and state-of-the-art facilities, enhance the teaching mission of the university
Lake Campus:
- A multi-million dollar leadership gift from the James F. Dicke family to support the first Lake Campus capital campaign for building renovation and expansion
Athletics:
- Development of the Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center as an athletics training center
